When the Season Shifts: Learning to Rest Between Harvests
There’s something profoundly spiritual about the shift between seasons. The colors fade, the air grows crisp, and the pace of life naturally begins to slow. Yet in our modern culture, we often resist that rhythm. We equate rest with laziness, stillness with stagnation. But God, in His perfect design, created seasons for a reason.
In nature, rest is not optional—it’s essential. The soil must lie fallow before new seeds can grow. Trees shed their leaves not because they’re dying, but because they’re preparing to live again. Likewise, God calls us to honor the pauses in our lives—the times when growth seems invisible but renewal is quietly taking root beneath the surface.
💛 Reflecting with Faith + EQ
In Emotional Intelligence, we talk about self-awareness and self-regulation—understanding what’s happening within us and choosing to respond with wisdom rather than reaction. Spiritually, this aligns with discernment and surrender.
When a season of life shifts—whether it’s a job change, a relationship ending, or a new chapter beginning—our emotions often resist the transition. We may feel uncertain or unproductive. But what if those emotions are simply invitations to rest in God’s presence?
Pause becomes powerful when it’s rooted in purpose.
As Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to pray (Luke 5:16), He modeled that sacred rhythm of engagement and rest. Renewal doesn’t happen in constant motion; it happens in communion with the Father.
