Casting Burdens at His Feet

We often carry burdens we were never meant to bear—worries about the future, shame from the past, or the pressure to hold everything together. But Jesus offers us a beautiful exchange: His peace for our weight. 💛

🌿 Matthew 11:28–29 reminds us:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

✨ A Biblical Example of Casting Burdens

Hannah’s story in 1 Samuel 1 shows this beautifully. She carried the deep sorrow of barrenness and poured her heart out before the Lord in prayer. 🙏 Scripture says she “went away and her face was no longer downcast” (v. 18). She left her burden in God’s hands, and in time, He answered with the gift of Samuel. 🌸

🌿 Today’s Reflection:

  • What burden am I still carrying on my own?

  • How can I practically hand this to Jesus in prayer today?

💛 Journaling Prompt:

Write down one thing that feels heavy right now. Say a prayer over it, then place it physically at the foot of your Bible or cross at home as a symbolic act of surrender. 🍂

✨ Prayer:

“Lord, I lay down every heavy weight before You. Teach me to trust You with what I cannot carry. Thank You for the rest and peace You give when I surrender. Amen.” 🙏

As you release your burdens today, may you feel the gentle rest of Christ covering your soul. 🌸💛
